CJMQ 88.9 FM, 103.9 on Videotron and 104.7 on Cogeco cable systems.

The new voice of the Townships. We have been on the FM dial at 88.9 since November 11 1995.

In June of 1998 we tested and then went to 500 watts of radiated power which enabled us to broadcast to the greater part of the Eastern Townships. In 2007, CJMQ increased its output power to an outstanding 2000 watts! A great milestone for the station.

As such CJMQ offers a unique locally produced English broadcast voice, providing a valuable advertising tool for local commerces and merchants.

CJMQ is a not-for-profit organisation.

If you are interested in more specific background information about the station then consult our history section, in doing so you may be surprised to learn the very important role that Bishop's University played in the development of radio technology.

CJMQ is defined as a community radio station, serving the community at large with varied programming to appeal to all age groups and tastes as well as cultural community content.

We promote an exploration of diverse musical genres and encourage alternative viewpoints to those found in the mass media. CJMQ will take you places you've never been before, only dreamed about and never even knew existed. All of this through the magic of radio without ever having to leave the comfort of your home, car or wander far from your computer. Yes you can listen to CJMQ over the internet, to do so click on the "Listen Live" link at the top left of the page.

It is sometimes thought CJMQ is a student run station. Certainly we have had many devoted and talented students who provided a vitality and freshness to the station and had for years kept the station alive, but there are also many people who live here year round that love radio and involve themselves at various levels.

CJMQ offers a 365 days-per-year, 24 hour programming life with a vast selection of DJs and shows as well as quality variety programming. This benefits our listeners who have a unique opportunity to enjoy a quality, relevant English-language broadcast.

CJMQ provides a unique listening experience.

CJMQ organises activities and events for the general public, promotes non-profit organisations, trains new DJs, produces advertisements and much more. To get involved in the CJMQ experience follow the link to our "Become" page.
